Miracles in Motion was founded by Lakesha R. Newson after a miracle was performed in the life of her daughter, Dalaney.
Miracles in Motion is a non-profit organization whose mission is to utilize the arts to help with the emotional well-being of youth while at the same time enhancing their educational experience.
Miracles in Motion was officially established in 2013 and for several years prior to that implemented the poetry component of the program in several Columbus City Schools and Schiller Recreational Center on a voluntary basis.
There are more stories and miracles, and Miracles in Motion will be the instrument used to allow them to pen it, sing it, dance it, paint it, and expressit in their own unique artistic way. If they can dream it we want everyone to be able to hear it and see it ... their Miracles in Motion.
About Lakesha
Lakesha R. Newson is the mother of two. She has been in the helping field for most of her life. Many of those years have been spent providing services to individuals of the special needs population. She graduated from Capital University where she majored in Social Work. This was done in order to continue the endeavors of bringing many more miracles in motion to other youth's lives and to countless others. For her the key to it all is to show the power of love in every action in order to heal those that have been broken ... no matter what has created the brokenness.
